TravelGolf.com Staff Report
WAILEA, Maui, Hawaii (Aug. 2, 2003) -- For a body tune-up that's good not only for your game but for your overall well being, too, LifeFest Maui at Wailea is offering some fun activities geared especially for golfers who like to feel well and play well.
Designed for health-conscious devotees and novices alike, LifeFest Maui is a new three-day health and wellness event that encompasses programs to educate the mind, rejuvenate the spirit, encourage physical fitness and highlight indigenous cultural practices -- all held at the beautiful and upscale Wailea Resort in Maui, Hawaii.
The event's weekend schedule includes clinics that combine a group golf lesson led by Wailea Golf Club's PGA pros and an instructional in either Feldenkrais® or strength-training. You can also sign up to join one of LifeFest Maui at Wailea's keynote speakers, Dr. Julian Whitaker, for a healthful round in the fresh air on the award-winning Wailea Gold Course or Wailea Blue Course. The "Whole Body" Golf Clinic will be led by Margaret McIntyre, a Feldenkrais Guide® assistant trainer, physiotherapist and certified sports instructor.
Developed more than 60 years ago by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, the Feldenkrais Method teaches students to replace old habits with newer and better ones through a process of sensory awareness. Typical benefits include improved posture, better balance, more efficient movement, greater flexibility, reduced pain and accelerated recovery from injury. McIntyre's clinic is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2003.
